Textile Exchange: eTrackit powered by TextileGenesis

TextileGenesis is the first technology provider whose platform has been licensed to offer eTrackit services, enabling eTransactions and tracing materials certified to Textile Exchange standards.
Through Collaboration
Over the past two years, TextileGenesis has partnered with Textile Exchange to digitize chain of custody standards, resulting in the creation of eTrackit—a groundbreaking platform transforming article-level traceability.
Powered by TextileGenesis, eTrackit enables peer-to-peer validation and seamless material verification across the entire supply chain. It’s the key to helping brands meet both regulatory demands and sustainability goals.
What Is eTrackit?
eTrackit is a digital tracking solution designed to:
- Digitally follow certified materials across each production stage.
- Replace paper-based transaction certificates with a digital token system.
- Provide a real-time, tamper-proof, and scalable way to validate sustainability claims.
The platform works by assigning Fibercoins™ to each unit (typically kg) of certified material, starting at the origin (e.g., a ginner or spinner). As the material flows through the supply chain, each transaction is recorded digitally—ensuring that what ends up in the final garment can be linked back to its certified source.
TextileGenesis’s Role
TextileGenesis™ provides the underlying platform technology and infrastructure for eTrackit. The system is:
Tailored
Blockchain-inspired but built for performance and scalability.
Able to integrate with certification bodies and suppliers via API and SFTP, reducing admin burden.
To use eTrackit on TextileGenesis, you must be a certified organization with a valid scope certificate, and conform to the eTransaction process, which is subject to certification body verification, as required by Textile Exchange standards.
Why This Matters
With incoming regulations like the EU Green Claims Directive, CSDDD, and Digital Product Passport (DPP), brands can no longer rely on fragmented or manual traceability systems. TextileGenesis™ ensures:
Full traceability and visibility across all supply chain tiers
Built-in compliance readiness
Data integration with LCA tools and impact reporting
Textile Exchange’s Role
Textile Exchange provides the certification frameworks (e.g., GRS, OCS, RWS, RDS) and collaborates on:
- Defining chain of custody protocols for different fibers
- Accrediting suppliers and certification bodies
- Ensuring alignment with global impact standards and reporting frameworks like the Material Change Index
By powering Textile Exchange’s eTrackit platform, TextileGenesis™ helps enable a harmonized and unified traceability ecosystem for the industry.
Scale & Impact
TextileGenesis™ currently traces billions of kilograms of sustainable fibers across over 100 brands and thousands of suppliers.
The eTrackit platform has been rolled out with major fiber initiatives, including organic cotton pilots in India and recycled polyester traceability in Southeast Asia.
TextileGenesis™ supports a multi-certification model, making it possible for brands to verify multiple standards through a single platform.
“With eTrackit, we’re building the connective tissue between certification, technology, and impact,”
—Textile Exchange
As legislation tightens and consumer scrutiny rises, Textile Exchange and TextileGenesis are equipping the fashion industry with the tools it needs to verify material origin, prove integrity, and drive meaningful change—fiber by fiber.
